  • Varighed: 2 Timer (Ca.)
  • Produkt kode: PreSchool

Here at Koori Kinnections we develop a tailored program to suit your early learners’ Aboriginal educational needs.

Your Koori Kinnections Educator is at your Centre for 2 hours (longer for 60+ children). The time is split with shorter/longer options for each age group (0-5).

Some of the activities your program may include:

Plant and Resource Handling

In this session students will learn about Aboriginal cultures, history, the environment, animals, plants, shelter, tools, weapons, and sustainability through a hands on learning experience with traditional resources.

Bushfood Cooking

Students will learn about and taste traditional foods, as well as assist in cooking age and allergy appropriate recipes. This will require a cooking space (at least an oven).

Traditional Games

The games taught to the children are games that have been played in Australia for thousands of years. We explain where the games are from, and why they were taught (hunting, listening, hand-eye coordination skills).

Other Activities -  include Art,  Dance, Story-telling, Craft (bushcraft; clay) and Guided walks e.g. nearby Park/Reserve.

Ages: We work with all ages. (As children 0-18 months struggle with focusing for long times, we offer 10-15 minute sessions for these age groups and longer e.g. 45 minute - 1hr+ sessions for the older children.

Center numbers: We can work with up to 120 children per day. They will be split into smaller groups, with your Koori Kinnections Educator at your Centre for 2 hours for up to 60 children, 3 hours for up to 90 children, and 4 hours for up to 120 children.

Multiple programs e.g. weekly/monthly/once a term - we offer discounted rates for multiple programs booked (3 or more).

Risk Assessment and Covid Safety Plans: You will be sent a risk management plan, Covid Safety plan and Educator WWCC details with your booking confirmation.

Excursions - we also offer excursions to some of our favourite locations including Berry Island Reserve, Irrawong Falls and The Coal Loader site. Please let us know if you would like more information.

NAIDOC 2025:  we've created a NAIDOC resource for Centres, as availability for pre-school incursions is very limited around this time. Our NAIDOC 'virtual' bushfood cooking resource is available as an optional extra for booked incursions, and includes 2 recipes with teacher notes and a video.
